Research Unit
1. OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH UNIT
The general objective of the Research Unit is to conduct high-quality, policy-oriented research that aligns with REAF's core mission and national priorities. The unit aims to provide actionable insights by analysing and advising on national topical issues, national political orientation, and challenges pertaining to good governance, justice, economy, and social welfare; ensuring that its work helps Elders Council members to provide adequate advice based on reliable information.

2. FUNCTIONS OF THE RESEARCH UNIT
Coordinate the development and implementation of a research agenda aligned with REAF mission and national priorities.
Ensure that required data and working documents on the identified research topics are timely provided;
Develop, review and evaluate REAF strategic plan as well as action plan.
Supporting Elders in identification of priority research areas that align with REAF Action Plan and national development objectives.
Ensuring the review and validation of research concepts, methodologies, and working papers to maintain quality and relevance.
Developing research tools for data collection;
Providing support related to logistical and administrative arrangements for field data collection;
Ensuring efficient coordination and monitoring of field visit activities.
Coordinating the compilation and refinement of research findings into actionable reports and recommendations;
Following up that the document providing advice to the Government is submitted;
Supervising the tracking of progress and outcomes of the research unit’s activities against the REAF Action Plan;
Ensuring the preparation of comprehensive quarterly and annual reports detailing achievements, challenges, and impacts of research initiatives.
Identifying gaps and areas for improvement in research processes;
Ensuring ongoing learning, capacity building, and collaboration with other researchers to enhance research effectiveness.
